After 10 days, eight ports of call, three days in Rome, our fifth wedding anniversary and Mike’s 45th birthday, we finally ended my stint as a guest chef on the MS Noordam for Holland America. Forgive a bit of back-dating, but even at the crew rate it was deeply expensive to spend much time online while onboard, and posting them all in one day struck me as incoherent.
I’m jet lagged and weary from our return flight via London as I write this, yet still managed to get up the energy to start some chicken stock, now happily gurgling in the background…
